About Me

Dr. Sara Hyman was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She attended the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) where she majored in International Studies. Watching veterinarians care for her pet dogs inspired her to pursue a postbaccalaureate program at the University of Pennsylvania. She then went on to Veterinary School at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She completed her clinical year of vet school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Most recently, she completed a 1-year small animal rotating internship in medicine and surgery at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, D.C., before joining MVA in August 2024.

Her veterinary interests include shock, laceration repairs, and immune-mediated diseases. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys traveling, running, cooking, spending time with her family, and doing the daily Wordle. While she does not currently have any pets, she is the proud owner of several plant babies.

Dr. Hyman is thrilled to be able to give back to her community and is excited to become part of a team that promotes collaboration, growth, and education.
