About Me
Dr. Christian Urbina is an associate veterinarian at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates and part of our rotating small animal medicine and surgery intern class of 2024 – 2025. Originally from the suburbs of Boston, he attended Cornell University, graduating with a B.S. in Animal Science and later obtained his degree in veterinary medicine from Cornell’s veterinary program. Before attending veterinary school, he worked at Dana Farber Cancer Institute working with Cellular therapies and Astellas Pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Urbina’s professional goals are to specialize in either Internal Medicine or Oncology with a focus on comparative research.
He currently lives with his Corgi named Pogi (Tagalog for “handsome”) and a white calico cat named Pinto.
“I always want to make a difference in the lives of my patients. However, I also love talking with clients and helping them understand the conditions in their pets. Medicine can be very overwhelming and scary, but making the information accessible to everyone is a big part of the job that I really enjoy.”
