My dog, Macee, and I are finishing up from the recovery of her Adrenal gland surgery that took place on June 24, 2024. Dr. Hearon and her entire team have been nothing short of wonderful.
Macee presented with an ultrasound showing an adrenal tumor from my primary vet. Macee and I came to Metropolitan Vet hospital on his recommendation for an appointment with Dr. Hearon on Tuesday March 19th. During the appointment, it was agreed upon by myself and Dr. Hearon to do some additional testing including a CT scan. Surgery was scheduled for April 8th. Shortly after the CT scan where Macee had been under anesthesia for the second time in a week, she developed a neurological issue with an unknown cause .
Surgery was placed on hold to see if the condition would resolve. Two subsequent appointments were attended to see her progress. At this time it was recommended by the team to pursue some rehabilitative work which was done (outside of Metropolitan). During this time, the surgical team kept in touch with me and answered every question or concern that I had either by a return email or a phone call, and I had a lot!
Finally, Macee was deemed well enough to go ahead with the surgery.  The surgery took place on June 24th and as Dr. Hearon proclaimed “it went as exactly as planned”. I was given a preliminary cost early in this process with a possible range depending on what was needed during the operation and the end cost was exactly in the range.
Macee has been recovering at home and is doing very well. I’ve had two follow up phone calls from the surgical team to check on her progress.
The care and communication during this entire process has been exemplary.
From my experience, I highly recommend this hospital and this surgical team.
Thanks very, very much to Dr. Hearon and her entire team.
