Acute Spinal Cord Disease – A practice approach to the “down dog”
The following differential diagnoses for acute spinal cord disease will be discussed:
- Intervertebral disc disease
- Meningitis (Inflammatory disease – GME)
- Discospondylitis
- Fibrocartilagenous Embolus
- Neoplasia
- Trauma
An appropriate diagnostic workup, treatment plan, and general prognostic information will be provided for each of the above differentials. Case examples will be used for illustration of the different disease processes (this will include video footage of patient neurological examinations and MR images from select cases).
What’s New with Seizure Management
The following medications will be discussed:
- Phenobarbital
- Potassium Bromide
- Zonisamide
- Levetiracetam (Keppra)
- Imepetoin (Pexion)
- CBD
A didactic lecture looking at the pharmacology, dosage and side effects of different seizure medications. Recent literature will also be reviewed.
