What makes MVA a great place to work?

The people! Hands down. From the moment I started at MVA, I have received nothing but kindness. As a new CVT who has only worked in one other vet hospital all I can say is how warm and family-like MVA is as a whole. It does not matter what position you play, everyone is helpful. The team is strong.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at MVA saving lives?

I am spending time with my fiancé and daughter, riding horses or finding some kind of new project. I LOVE baking as well.

What is something that people might not know about you?

I have been riding horses for a very long time. They are my passion, my hobby, and life. Nothing beats sitting in the saddle.

How many pets do you have?

I have one Eastern Box Turtle, her name is Pokey. She may not be the coolest animal a Vet Tech could own, but she’s treated like gold. She is 20+ years old, and believe it or not she’s got quite the personality. I may not own him, but I treat him like my own; Mocha is the horse I have been riding for almost 10 years now. He is he light of my life and wouldn’t know what to do without him. He loves gaming, jumping and riding around on trails.

What makes MVA a great place to work?

The dedication and compassion toward our patients. Whether the cases are critical or non-critical, the patients are cared for as if they are our own, and it is always so rewarding to see them do well. I also admire everyone’s willingness to help each other when it’s needed, inside and outside of work, as well as MVA’s active involvement in the community.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at MVA saving lives?

Spending time with my friends, watching movies, outdoor activities, and finding dogs to greet and pet since I’m not able to have them at my apartment.

What is something that people might not know about you?

Much like my canine friends, I really enjoy a long car ride with the windows down and going on picnics.

Not only is everyone here excellent at what they do, but they maintain a great level of professionalism that makes learning and working everyday exciting. There is a great sense of community and you feel like you have someone proud of your growth and accomplishments, or to pick you up when your day might not be going quite as good.
