
About Me
Dr. Mónica Rodríguez Jiménez is an associate veterinarian at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates and a member of the Rotating Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship Class of 2026–2027.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Rodríguez Jiménez earned a degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico in 2019. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and values building meaningful relationships with clients, patients, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Dr. Rodríguez Jiménez earned her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. Following graduation, she began a small animal rotating internship at the University of Georgia, where she gained experience managing a wide range of complex medical and surgical cases. She later continued to expand her clinical and surgical skills through relief practice across the greater Philadelphia region. In June 2024, she joined Pennsauken Animal Hospital & Urgent Care, providing preventive, emergency, dental, and surgical care while further developing her interests in surgery and perioperative patient management. She is excited to continue building her foundation in specialty medicine and surgery through her rotating internship at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates.
Dr. Rodríguez Jiménez’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, emergency and trauma surgery, wound management, interventional radiology, and minimally invasive procedures. Her long-term goal is to pursue advanced surgical training and become a board-certified veterinary surgeon.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Rodríguez Jiménez lives with her beloved husband, Tim, and their pets, Fabrizio the cat and Rex the American Bully dog. In her free time, she enjoys CrossFit, running, hiking, skiing, painting, reading, and spending time at the beach.
