About Me
Chloe Spertus was born and raised in Florida, and completed her Bachelors of Science degree in neuroscience at the University of Miami in 2011. She received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Cornell University in 2015. She then completed a small animal rotating internship at the University of Missouri in 2016. She received the L.N. Atkinson, DVM, Memorial Fund Award, given to the intern who has demonstrated interest and proficiency in canine veterinary medicine and surgery. Following her internship, Chloe returned to Cornell University for a three-year residency in comparative veterinary ophthalmology. She completed her residency in 2019 prior to joining Metropolitan Veterinary Associates. Chloe is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. She has presented her research at four national conferences and she has several research publications in prestigious journals, including the American Journal of Veterinary Research, Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Journal of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and Veterinary Ophthalmology.
She especially enjoys having the opportunity to work with a wide variety of species and performing cataract surgery in animals to restore vision. Her personal interests include running, kayaking, and playing soccer. In her free time, Dr. Spertus enjoys spending time with her twin daughters, husband, cat, and dachshund.
