About Me

Dr. Robert McLear completed all his post secondary education at the University of Pennsylvania. This began with an undergraduate degree in neuroscience at the School of Arts & Sciences followed by his VMD degree in 1996. After veterinary school, Dr. McLear completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery in 1997 and a residency in radiology in 2000. Following the residency Dr. McLear became a consultant and adjunct assistant professor in the Section of Radiology at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. McLear is also the Founder and Director of PetRad, LLC, which provides teleradiology services for hundreds of small-animal veterinary practices throughout New England and Mid-Atlantic states. PetRad has a dedicated imaging center within MVA offering Computed Tomography (CT), Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, and Iodine-131 radiotherapy for feline hyperthyroidism. PetRad radiologists interpret thousands of imaging studies annually.
