Ryan Wheeler is originally from California and received his B.S. in animal science from Chico State University in 2003, and his degree in veterinary medicine from Ross University in 2007 with his fourth year clinical rotations done at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Wheeler completed a small animal internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston in 2008 with a passion for emergency medicine and critical care.

Dr. Wheeler's special veterinary interests include the treatment and management of traumatic brain injury, sepsis, and trauma patients. He has one son, his rottweiler bull-mastiff mix Riddick, who also has made contributions to veterinary medicine by donating blood for Angell's animal blood bank program.

In his free time, Dr. Wheeler enjoys going to the gym, aikido, basketball, fishing, camping and keeping up on current veterinary literature.
